GREETINGS from Pink POWERED BY MOSS

We are BACK!

Welcome to the fist day of AUTIMN!

It IS the Fall, and the event industry is back in full swing! There is lots to do with premieres (Bob Gruen’s movie), art openings (Daivd Byrne at Pace/Mcgill and old spaces becoming new (The Marriott Marquis Broadway Ballroom +)!

We started the fall with unusual earth activity – an earthquake and a hurricane in the same week.  Us NY’ers are a hardy bunch and luckily the earth spared us!  We did have some water issues getting to our NJ warehouse. We are hopping the peaking rivers finally have retracted and we can get door to door without jumping fences!

Last week, FNO –While Fashion’s Night Out was a lot of fun, it was also a lot of hype.  Now that is a good thing!  Bringing out loads of fashionistas and general lovers of spectacle, the masses were truly out – eating, drinking, listening to bands and DJ’s and SHOPPING! Well it was a real scene and be seen event and it was loads of fun.

WHAT I DID ON MY SUMMER VACATION!

For some reason I was drawn to the Midwest this August – Three events – in Three mid-western cities lead me to a conference with opportunities to meet event professionals in those towns.

ISES EventWorld brought me to St. Louis where we engaged in Leadership Training and learning and sharing information on innovations and best practices in Events.  Read more about the conference and my teaching experience and the playful event at The City Museum.

BizBash Chicago was at the Merchandise Mart and it once again proved to me that Chicago is a major player of the event industry.  The pre-party at Hubbard Inn highlighted the country chic décor that is trending right now.  The awards featured Chicago’s best and brightest and the after party highlighted another event venue trend, the outdoor lounge.

EventCamp Twin Cities highlighted Minneapolis as a bright spot for new technology and events. Sam Smith and Ray Hansen joined forces to create this experimental event.  Pods in other cities, a gaming component, talks on brain power, experiential marketing, alternative conference formats and me! I presented on 3d design in the Future of Events.  Pink Powered by Moss also highlighted the amazing McNamara Alumni Center space with tension fabric décor.

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT - NALU DESIGNS

On our blog PinkIncNews.com we highlighted this Underwater Themed event that we participated in with Nalu Creative in the Bahama’s.  Many of our Sea Creature costumes were suspended as décor and our Vines and Ivy acted as seaweed on the tables and floated in the space.  The lighting effects really added to complete the atmosphere.

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT - BRING TO LIGHT

We are embarking on some cool projects for the Bring to LIGHT Festival in Greenpoint on October 1! This festival combines all types of lighting technology and effects onto the waterfront. New York City’s own 'Nuit Blanche', the global, all-night public art festival that began 20 years ago in Europe. LED and sound installation, light sculptures, video mapping all culminating into a cacophony of LIGHT! Come on down to see our collaboration with famed artist Chakaia Booker!
