VENICE BIENNALE
We are thrilled to collaborate with Zolaykha Sherzad on her “break-out” Burkha project featured in the Venice Biennale 2009. An Afghan born architect by trade, Sherzad investigates the role of the burkha in Afghan women’s lives using filmy textile work to create a shelter and tent. As a factory owner employing women in Kabul, Sherzad experienced the “unveiling” of proud women each day in her factory and was inspired to tell their story through this rich and interesting design.
