This month, the highly anticipated second section of the High Line just opened, now extending the elevated park up to 30th St. The park, which is built over an abandoned railway, integrates landscape and walkways with different architectural elements from it’s surroundings as it weaves it’s way through buildings in the Meatpacking District and now Chelsea. In addition to the half-mile extension, a new installation called Rainbow City is now open in the Lot, a public plaza on 30th st which also contains several of New York’s top food trucks as well as a beer garden. Brightly colored inflatables rise up 3 stories in Rainbow City and bring out the kid in everybody in this urban playground!
