• Wednesday the 19th – 11am Expo Floor opens!

• 12-2 You can find me in and out of the Social Media Lounge! Talking Twitter or whatever platform you would like to discuss or learn about!

• 12:30-1:30 – HOT TOPICS LUNCHEON – I will be hosting a table as ISES NYC President with my President Elect Paul Neuman

• a quicky 10 minutes at 4:05 on the show floor with ELI (Event Leadership Institute) and my topic is Boosting Your Creative IQ! (something we all can use!)

• I will float around the ISES booth # 354 where members that JOIN on site get headshots on the spot! (thank you Fifth Avenue Digital!)

• Pink Powered by Moss is a Finalist for our JuiceBar Charging Station in the category of Best New Product!

• ISES NYC is up for Best Corporate or Association Event Concept for the Chapter’s Sustainability Forum and Marketplace!

Thursday June 30^th was the 2011 ISES Big Apple Awards.

I wrote all about The BAA’s in detail but here I wanted to highlight for you Pink Powered by Moss, and my accomplishments:

• I was Installed as the President of ISES NY Metro chapter for the 2011-2012 season.

• I gave a speech about our devices / social media and why we need People and Associations

• I also am the Event Designer on Record for the BAA 2011

Pink Powered by Moss:

• Our Ribbonesque graced the TimesCenter with movable Archways that were used in different configurations to create wayfinding at the event

• The Stage Set was created from several of our tension fabric structures from our rental line.

• Pink Powered by Moss / Moss each took home an award – both in the Best Rental Product:

Last month we debuted one of our new products at the Gravity Free conference in San Francisco – the Oblique Tunnel. This new tunnel consists of 4 sections with sides slanting and sloping in every direction. These 4 sections are parallel on the ground though, creating a stunning walkway with a width of 10’ all throughout.

Although these sections are designed to fit together in a rectilinear plan, they can also be pulled apart to either extend the distance from start to finish on the tunnel or to make turns. We also separated the fabrics into 3 different faces which provides more options for dressing the frame. Colors or graphics can be switched in on any face, and the fabrics can even be removed to create openings above.

The Network Upfront season is a very exciting time in NYC.  This 2011 season Pink Powered by Moss worked on several of these all-out events.

On May 17th, the Telemundo Network held it’s first Upfront Event in 2 years at the American Museum of Natural History. To mark the occasion and allude to their rapidly growing viewership and demographics, they chose a futuristic them which was maintained throughout the LeFrak Imax Theatre and into the Rose Center for Earth and Space. The folks at Empire Entertainment called on us to create some walls and tunnels to create this vision.

240’ worth of White Out Walls were arranged on both sides of a hallway in the corridor surrounding the LeFrak Theatre, and with the help of some dynamic floor lighting, a processional runway was created. As the guests exited the Theatre space they entered into the lobby for the Rose Center and were ushered through 10 brand new Flexi Tunnels spanning over 200 feet that were also illuminated by color-changing LEDs along the ground.

To meet the demands of both the museum and a tight production schedule, over 450 feet worth of walls and tunnels were set up well under 24 hours and dismantled in just 2 hours!

We are very excited to have participated in 3 Network Upfronts this Spring! The Upfront Season is always a great time in NYC as multiple go all-out events are happening right here! Read about the Oxygen upfront we participated in!

On April 4th, Gotham Hall hosted Oxygen’s Upfront event in which the rapidly growing woman’s network showcased several of its current and upcoming shows. We were called upon by Steven Yuhasz to help contribute to this annual event.

To create a reveal for the main event space, we modified a version of our Flexi Tunnel to the curvature of the building, which would direct the flow of traffic into the festivities. A Flexi Arch was paired with the tunnel to elongate the form as well. We also had a custom Circle Surround that also curved along with the building and stepped down from 14’ to 8’ in height. These surrounds flanked the stage on both side and served as a backdrop for the celebrities who graced the stage such as Paris Hilton, and the cast of Glee.

We also had 6 brand new Quarter Round Tables built for this event that were used for serving drinks and placed throughout the venue as a lightweight and portable bar. You can now see some of them on display in our SoHo Showroom and Design Studio .

The Tuesday Night Party at The Cosmopolitan – to begin with – check these images to describe The Cosmopolitan environment and from there you elevate into a tropical swim area. In a very nice outdoor space we quickly realize the pool is empty and the plentiful buffet (with no line) was wading (sorry) for us to EAT!

The Marquee was a wonderful venue with nice big spaces but also nooks and crannies. PTE Productions provided entertainment and décor and with great creative catering this is one exciting event!

Technical Producer Jon Adcock of PTE Productions provided the main stage entertainment- beatboxer- Paul “Spazz Box” and video DJ Roonie G. Also opening up for Roonie- Jon’s ProgirlDJs.com DJ Amber started up the evening!

A fun time was had by ALL! Lots of things to look at and listen to and eat! Thank you all the Hosts and Sponsors!

The past few years Event Solutions relationship with Catersource has made this show a very vibrant place for Caterers and the food industry.  The tradeshow floor continues to show us lots of food, food service and a small area for non-food Event oriented product. The surprising part about that is that the dozen events participants I spoke with all were having a fantastic show. So go figure…

Roundabouts cupcake sleeves had an adorable booth concept – the wall was alive with chefs hands demonstrating the product (take a look below)

• ice free ice skating! Ice skating on synthetic ice!

The BH Skating Parks people really have there stuff together! Ice Skating anywhere! You and your guests just love the excitement of live ice skating!

EventCamp National Conference #ecnc

There are a group of Event Professionals #eventprofs that are like mind and we come together to discover and discuss where events and technology/social media meet!

The 2011 National edition has left my head full of ideas and info on this concept. For me there is a feeling of the Future is Now and We Really have NO idea of what is going to happen especially with technology. In my opinion we ain’t seen nothing yet!

MY HIGHLIGHTS:

Hank Wasiak @hankwasiak – Asset-based Thinking – Hank was a real MadMan and he continues to work in several mediums including advertising. It was exciting to hear him proclaim that this IS the most interesting time in history in relation to technology.

• @LizStrauss @ChrisBrogan and others presented

• Gaming is a hot topic to engage your audience

• #eventprofs meeting f2f is still very exciting and many relationships are deepening and time marches on

• New faces have joined the eventcamp community and they are welcome with open arms.

• This great community is think tank for the future of events! Great resource!
