It’s been just over a year since we first debuted the JuiceBar at The Special Event in Phoenix, Arizona. Since then, this charging station has made it into our Rental Catalog and has been seen at several different events.

Whether you call it a charging kiosk or a portable charging station, the Juice Bar is the only easily branded charging station available for rent in the event marketplace. Phone and device charging stations bring people into your tradeshow booth.  At events with long days, your event goers are always happy to get their electric charge. It is amazing how you can fill a need by allowing people to recharge!

On Tuesday, November 28th, we received a request from Madoff Productions for a 30′ Circle Surround backdrop to  be used the following day for CBS’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Pre-Show. With only 1 day notice, we were able to provide a simple yet elegant backdrop that was seen across the world – just another example of a creative fabric solution from Pink Powered by Moss!

• Gold furniture – the sort of Lux, over the top furniture, White with rhinestones that kind of thing.  Several companies highlighted in this look  - AFR, Lounge22 Powered by Cort, Luxe Event Rentals, and Lounge Appeal.

• Rustic – Country look – Town and Country highlighted their Vineyard Line with lots of distressed countrified Furniture.  This trend also came through loud and clear in the ISES LA Table Top Display Competition.

• Inflatable décor, new players coming in from China, along with AirDD from the LA area and Inflate showing different ways of using self contained fabric inflatables. Also Blofield, this one is inflated chairs that tie into the Lux line of furniture!

• Entertainment – from Elegant Figures as the work of Champaign Creative to a much more Gritty Cirque of Zen Arts, and lots of music, entertainment continues to be a major part of the LA events scene.  I also loved Zoltar – the mind reader in a box – by San Diego Spotlight Entertainment.

• Social Media Lounge – this concept keeps rearing it’s head and it a great addition to a the trade show environment – bringing the digital world together with the real life. This rendition featured Lindsay Fultz of Middle Child New Media (@LindayFultz  ) and Jenise Fryatt from Icon Presentations (@JeniseFryatt).  They really got some great information and connectivity going with education, games and prizes too!

• Unusual venues continue to be popular – several museums – Madam Tussaud’s and the Hollywood Museum participated as well as diverse spots like LA Live.  I must tell you that being across from Lady GaGa was quite a site to see. People are really drawn to the figures. She looked so real. People walked right by my giant fabric sculptures to peruse her realistic wax skin.  Go figure!

Food trends – anyone? What were you seeing out there?

The keynotes both Hilary Harris and David Merrill were very well received as well as Howard Givner’s Event Learning Institute sessions.  AOO’s set design and production added large circular screens at the sides with related material – a great addition to the main stage.

The Network Upfront season is a very exciting time in NYC.  This 2011 season Pink Powered by Moss worked on several of these all-out events.

On May 17th, the Telemundo Network held it’s first Upfront Event in 2 years at the American Museum of Natural History. To mark the occasion and allude to their rapidly growing viewership and demographics, they chose a futuristic them which was maintained throughout the LeFrak Imax Theatre and into the Rose Center for Earth and Space. The folks at Empire Entertainment called on us to create some walls and tunnels to create this vision.

240’ worth of White Out Walls were arranged on both sides of a hallway in the corridor surrounding the LeFrak Theatre, and with the help of some dynamic floor lighting, a processional runway was created. As the guests exited the Theatre space they entered into the lobby for the Rose Center and were ushered through 10 brand new Flexi Tunnels spanning over 200 feet that were also illuminated by color-changing LEDs along the ground.

To meet the demands of both the museum and a tight production schedule, over 450 feet worth of walls and tunnels were set up well under 24 hours and dismantled in just 2 hours!

It is Upfront Season here in New York and we at Pink Powered by Moss have had the opportunity to work on several of them.

The Network Upfronts roll into many locations, however NYC is a major destination for these elaborate events.  The Upfronts show the Networks advertisers and executives the up-coming season. These bar-no-expense (it seems) events do pull out the stops for they are trying to focus on the core of impressing their constituents with original – short yet flashy presentations.

First, early in April we contributed to the Oxygen at Gotham Hall, produced by Steven Yuhasz. For this event we supported the producers with design work and modified several versions of rental items including a curved Flexi Tunnel to fit to the oval-shaped room as well as a curved and stepped Circle Surround flanking the stage on both sides. We also had 6 brand new Quarter Round tables built for this event that are now available for rental and in use in our new SoHo Design Studio and Showroom!

More recently, in Mid-May, we had a busy week putting up a giant curved screen for ABC Television’s big Upfront in Avery Fisher Hall. The framed screen had an enormous presence at the Lincoln Center venue spanning 66’ wide by 18’ high.

Just a day after this screen was installed we had yet another major Upfront event for Telemundo Network at the American Museum of Natural History where the museum and entryway to the Rose Center was turned into a futuristic setting. For this event, we were called upon by Empire Entertainment to create 240’ worth of White Out Walls which lead to 10 new Flexi Tunnels spanning 220’ into the planetarium.

We are very excited to have participated in 3 Network Upfronts this Spring! The Upfront Season is always a great time in NYC as multiple go all-out events are happening right here! Read about the Oxygen upfront we participated in!

On April 4th, Gotham Hall hosted Oxygen’s Upfront event in which the rapidly growing woman’s network showcased several of its current and upcoming shows. We were called upon by Steven Yuhasz to help contribute to this annual event.

To create a reveal for the main event space, we modified a version of our Flexi Tunnel to the curvature of the building, which would direct the flow of traffic into the festivities. A Flexi Arch was paired with the tunnel to elongate the form as well. We also had a custom Circle Surround that also curved along with the building and stepped down from 14’ to 8’ in height. These surrounds flanked the stage on both side and served as a backdrop for the celebrities who graced the stage such as Paris Hilton, and the cast of Glee.

We also had 6 brand new Quarter Round Tables built for this event that were used for serving drinks and placed throughout the venue as a lightweight and portable bar. You can now see some of them on display in our SoHo Showroom and Design Studio .

Macy’s has just held their flower show highlighting Towers of Flowers at stores all over the country AND in Macy’s – Marshall Fields – Chicago we built the Hancock Tower! This FLOWER TOWER is 5 stories tall and houses both real flower specimens and of course FABRIC FLOWERS by Pink Powered by Moss!

What is the EZ Interactive Wall? Moss EZ Interactive is an interactive display combining an EZ Fabric Wall with reactive sensors, allowing users to drive content on the integrated LCD monitor. The monitor, sensors, and computer are completely contained within the 80mm thick wall, making it one of the most compact, interactive displays available. Moss EZ Interactive is a new way to highlight products and services to attract and keep customers in your trade show booth.

Each EZ Interactive wall includes eight LED-lit sensors so users can select from eight media files that you upload into the system. When you wave a hand in front of the sensors to select the media they want to see, LED-lit sensors light up and the corresponding video or slide show will begin to play. Proctor and Gamble Beauty Full Circle

In October 2009, P&G engaged Mark Addison’s EVENTSTYLE to create an event that was a brand new way of presenting a press conference. This event was to feature five distinct brands at one time rather then the traditional one event for each brand. Mark Addison’s EVENTSTYLE turned to Pink Inc. to partner with on the BEAUTY FULL CIRCLE design and décor.

The concept: Five P&G beauty brands: Hair – Pantene, Hair Color – Clairol, Skin care – Olay, Personal Care – Venus, and Make-up – CoverGirl would all be presented under one roof for an in depth trend forecast. This was done to promote a renewed awareness for new and current products within the Proctor & Gamble family.  The attendees, editors and beauty executives, would come together for a strategic mix of valuable information in an organized session that maximized the guests’ time by providing an encompassing spectrum of worthwhile content in a desirable, all-inclusive setting, creating a memorable experience!

The venue selected for Beauty Full Circle, was Skyline Studios and Gallery as it was a newly renovated event destination in the heart of located steps from Midtown, the Javits Center, Chelsea’s Gallery District and the latest, must-see site – High Line Park.

Guests entered through a dimensional, semi-circle gateway – Pink Inc.’s Flexi-Tunnel that created an engaging, psychological transition upon arrival. Pools of colored light and beauty projections emphasized the transformation as visitors emerge from the gateway entering into the Beauty Full Circle experience.

Greeted by a branded 12’ Circle, and a refreshing cocktail of pleasing fragrances the visitors entered the inspiration installations triggering positive associations for influential attendees. Each area surrounded with circular forms creating a dramatic environmental design encompassing you in the brand. Lounge seating made the stage a comfortable area for drinking in knowledge.

Upstairs in the Brand Experience Showrooms deconstructed cylinders interlock, and interlaced passageways allow for creative progression between expositions. Branded circular fabric forms adorn each room and upon entering each unique environment shows off its own individual brand concept and statement.

Each brand held mini-seminars within each individual brand experience. Guest lecturers ranging from celebrity aestheticians and renowned makeup artists to product scientists and brand ambassadors demonstrated the products and answered questions.

Food, drink, visual experience, brand engagements and of course a GREAT goody bag completed this P & G brand Press Conference/Brand Revitalization creating Beauty Full Circle!

What were the main goals/objectives of your event?

The main goals and objectives of this event were for P&G Beauty to achieve winning outcomes when brand forces combine to capture the attention of the North American Beauty Media, and products garner increased media interest by correlating specific attributes to cutting-edge trends and best-in-class data, revealed to attendees during a collaborative event.

On top of that this Press Conference/Brand Revitalization was to be unique as it was featuring five distinct brands at one time rather then the traditional one event for each brand. P&G engaged Mark Addison’s EVENTSTYLE to create this event that was a brand new way of presenting a press conference and in this case a brand revitalization. Five P&G beauty brands were presented under one roof.

Proctor and Gamble wanted to make sure through education their attendees would learn about the brands and be reinvigorated by the new product offerings.  In informal meetings and main stage discussions, the gallery floor became a comfortable lounge for mixing and mingling as well as information gathering.  Areas of discovery, trend vignettes, presentations and food/beverage service also helped our attendees relax into the environment to be ready to take in the new product information, demonstrations and actually experiencing some of the products.

The experience design and layout of this event was chosen to get the beauty editors and executives comfortable quickly so as to rediscover the P&G brands. Each floor had unique areas for both group and self-exploration. Brand Ambassadors were available through out the venue to demonstrate product and answer any questions, however they were not pushing product but subtly available as observers to respond based on need.

Each area visually tied back to the complete concept – Beauty Full Circle.  Each of the objects selected reflected the concept. Keeping the 5 brands unique yet on target for objective was challenging. In response, we brought in different designers to interpret each of the brands while sticking to the event goals and objectives.

Overall, Beauty Full Circle truly was a beautiful circle for our client P&G and all the beauty experts. The circular décor completed the concept as the knowledge gracefully was transferred creating a very successful Beauty Full Circle!

The methods utilized to achieve the event’s objectives

Many methods were utilized to achieve the Beauty Full Circle event.  From the selection of the venue to the choice of food everything fed back into the Beauty Full Circle concept.

The venue selected for Beauty Full Circle, was Skyline Studios because of its loft-like gallery, which was newly renovated. The availability of different floors enabled us to create the Tunnel Entry and Inspiration Installation on the ground floor gallery. It also allowed us to use a different floor with the Brand Experience Showrooms and another floor that served as our lunch and food service stations.  These distinct areas enabled us to create an atmosphere and flow for our beauty specialists.

Beautiful design and a carefully planned program taking into account the beauty editors and executives time constraints truly made this event successful. The attendee’s time was well planned out.  They were offered a morning or an afternoon session. Either session included a refreshing lunch.

The Inspiration Installation had both individual discovery areas and group education discussions.  Décor elements softened the space and made a relaxing environment. Lighting, scents, sounds and refreshments all added into the feeling we created for the experts to experience. Beauty editors, writers and high level executives all enjoyed the visual experience and thoughtful information.

As the guest entered through the Flexi Tunnel, their field of visions was completely taken over by the projections and the 12’ branded Moon used to “cap” off the tunnel. Once through, the room sprang to life, with many Moons of varying sizes covering the ceiling and leading the attendees to the staging area. A half circle stage led into a half circle fabric backdrop, creating a Beautiful Circle. Mimicking the Moon at the entry was a smaller branded Moon with the name of the event. The stage was then finished off with a stunning Circle Surround half-column, which used Moons in the Event’s colors, interspersed with circles with the Event Logo, and “empty” Moons, to make for an eye-catching stage.

The Brand Experience Showrooms all highlighted the products both visually and educationally, allowing our attendees full access to the brands and allowing a good interaction with people and products. Through spokesperson announcements and mini-seminars within each brand experience, guest lecturers that included celebrity aestheticians and renowned makeup artists, as well as product scientists and brand ambassadors demonstrated the products and answered questions, bringing the idea of Beauty Full Circle to the minds of each attendee.

We were successfully able to introduce new brands, and rediscover Olay, Clairol, Venus, CoverGirl and Pantene.
